How will the game work?

You will have two options: Either you can join as part of a Kingdom's Army or as a mixed group.

Kingdom vs. Kingdom mode:

You get to choose between five kingdoms (Assyrian, Israelite, Nubian, Roman and Persian.) after this you choose your class and you along with other players fight against an army of another Kingdom.

Mixed group mode:

In this mode you'll be able to choose any class you want (including Kingdom-special classes) After this, when both armies are assembled, the two groups will fight each other on a randomly selected map.*

*: A feature that may be added is a one to two minute planning time where all members of an army can create and discuss a battle plan to try to ensure success.

Character Anatomy

This game (if completed) will have a decent anatomy system: This means that if you hit someone in the head with an arrow they won't just lose health--they will die from the injury, like in real life. Here is what happens when certain areas of the characters body are hit by either a stone, arrow, spear or sword:

The head: An blow to the head will always be fatal.

The upper chest: It is very likely to be fatal, but only losing health is also possible.

The stomach: It is likely to be fatal, but often the player will be able to survive.

The arms: If an arm is badly injured all weapons will become unusual-able: the injured player will have to run for their lives or scout until they die.

The legs: If a leg is damaged the player will lose 50% speed until death.

Enough of the above injuries will leave the player in a state of dying, which will last thirty seconds. After dying the player is removed from the game.

As you can see, just one hit can end a players life and they don't get to return to the same battle like they do in other games. My ambition for this game is to give the player a real experience of what an ancient battle was like.

Types of unites

Choosing what class you play as is very important both for you as an individual player and for the army as a whole. There are a number of classes to play as, the following are available for every Kingdom:

Ranged classes

The Slinger: Playing as a slinger allows you to quickly sling stones at in-coming enemies, while their attack is deadly and their speed unmatched there are disadvantages: the slinger is easily killed and aiming your sling is not always easy.

Armor: 20%
Movement speed: 80%
Weapon speed: 40%
Strength: 20%
Spots taken up by: Only one

The archer: Playing as an archer allows you to send powerful arrows at in-coming enemies from far away. The archer is fast but it has both low armor and aiming is not always easy. If you play as an Assyrian, you can play as an Assyrian bowmen which can reload arrows significantly faster than a normal archer.

Armor: 40%
Movement speed: 60%
Weapon speed: 50%
Strength: 30%
Spots taken up by: Two

Melee Classes

Spearman: A spearman is quick and holds the long melee weapon in the game, however it is also inferior in strength and armor compared to other melee unites.

Armor: 40%
Movement speed: 60%
Weapon speed: 30%
Strength: 40%
Spots taken up by: Only one

Swordsmen: For a player who wants to really be in the fight, the swordsmen is available. He yields a powerful sword and bares superior army compared to any other standard unite. The disadvantage is his speed. If you play as a Jew you can play as a Maccabee. The Maccabee is significantly stronger and has a higher armor value as well. You can also play as a Roman Legion which has a very high armor bonus.

Armor: 60%
Movement speed: 40%
Weapon speed: 40%
Strength: 60%
The swordsmen takes up two spots in the army.

Kingdoms

In its beta version the game will have five Kingdoms. Each Kingdom has its own special class that is an improved version of another class, the exception to this is the Persian Immortal which adds a new class but does not get rid of the archer and swordsmen which it replaces.

The Kingdoms

The percent in barracks is for the unite which is replaced.

Assyrian

The Assyrians get the Assyrian bowmen as a special unite, he replaces the archer. The Assyrian bowmen can reload his bow in half the time, he also has slightly more damage. The Assyrian bowmen fills two spots, which means you could have an army of five. The Assyrian bowmen is great for players who want to fire many arrows quickly.

Armor: 40% (40%)
Movement speed: 60% (60%)
Weapon speed (reloading time): 100% (50%)
Strength: 35% (30%)

Israel

The Hebrews get the Maccabee as a special unite, he replaces the swordsmen. The Maccabee has a higher defense and attack than the swordsmen. It fills three spots, which means you could have three per army.

Armor: 70% (60%)
Movement speed: 40% (40%)
Weapon speed: 40% (40%)
Strength: 80% (60%)

Nubian

The Nubian get the...

Persian

The Persians get the Immortal as a special unite. The Immortal is unique because of their ability to use both the bow and the sword; they are both an archer and a swordsmen. They take up three spaces.

Armor: 50%
Movement speed: 50%
Weapon speed: 50%
Strength: 70%

Rome

The Romans have Legion as their special unite. They have a significantly high defense than the swordsmen. They take up three spaces, so you can three of them per army. Like they were in real life they are deadly when in a group that knows how to advance, use their shields and care for their fellow men.

Armor: 90% (60%)
Movement speed: 40% (40%)
Weapon speed: 40% (40%)
Strength: 60%
